UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY
Helping Adults Learn, Professional Development Program
Faculty of Continuing Education
I include this educational program and history because it relates closely to the work I do with dogs now.
I worked in the adult learning field for over 6 years starting in Human Resources/Adult Learning department at NOVA Corp. and this line of work ties into what we learn in Canine Behaviour studies. Back in 1994, this was progressive thinking and new age for corporate human resources.
After I left NOVA, I worked at Mount Royal University in the student resources dept. for the head Psychologist in that department, and in the Learning Disabilities (a term I sincerely dislike) department. I also worked at Bow Valley College in the department that put together the formal educational programs for that college, and I worked at the University of Calgary learning resources department.
After that I worked in the executive offices of Alberta Health Care, Emergency Services. Quite an eye opener when it comes to the psychology and behaviour in people!
